Comments:

Spent time this year trying to improve our receive capability. We put up a
temporary end-fire phased pair of 160m (520ft)beverages on north america which
gave us low noise and were stunningly effective at reducing the EU QRM. We also
used a Wellbrook Communications 1530 magnetic loop which also was very low noise
and enabled us to hear many stations which were lost in the noise on the 33m
(108ft) vertical.

Knowing that conditions had been pretty good recently it was disappointing that
conditions, particularly to NA, were pretty average on the Friday night and
Saturday morning and were even worse with heavy static on Saturday night and
Sunday morning. There were quite a few EU, AS and AF countries that we have
worked in previous years that we didn't hear this year so the DX mult count is
lower than usual.

Summary, Overall score disappointing, but the experience of using the specialist
receive antennas was very worthwhile with a lot learnt.
