Soapbox : Well, It was great using the special call. However, what is
really surprising was that my score last year was better with 2,041,699 points
in one less hour. Actually I had only 248 160/80/40 meter QSOs last year as
opposed to 397 this year. The big difference is no surprise with 321 10/15
meter QSOs last year and only 176 this year. So with the great advantage of a
unique 4-character callsign verses my normal 9 character one, the conditions
show to be significantly worse for my location this year. I had to delete many
QSOs with Spain because it seemed that the majority of operators there couldn?t
copy the number ?8? even when the number contained two ?8s? they would copy one
and not the other. I even tried in Spanish, still no good. Spanish speaking
operators in other parts of the world had no trouble, weird. I hope to have
better antennas next year.
