Comments:

Had limited time this weekend - only operated Friday night for a few hours and
Saturday morning/afternoon. I was considering going to one of the FRC multis,
but figured for the limited time I had, I could contribute more club points
operating from home. Even if I had the time for full-time, it would have been
tough, as I have a power line noise problem I was hoping would be fixed by now,
but it's not.

Just some unrelated comments:

1. Since participating in the IARU HST (High Speed Telegraphy Championship) in
2005, I decided to learn to type CW, as I can't write fast enough. I think I
finally got the hang of it, as a few times during the contest, I was typing a
call, then realized I had no idea what it was until I looked at the screen.
That means I am finally converting the sound directly to a keystroke, and
eliminating that middle step of thinking what the character is, then finding
the key to press.

2. Speaking of CW, how about those bad fists that string the call into one
long character? There were a couple of guys I must have asked for 5 repeats
until I figured it out.

3. Still speaking of CW, my vote for the worst contest call is SE5E. Waaay
too many dits!

4. It was much easier to work 8Q7DV on 80 than on 40.

5. About 2130Z on Saturday I was running EU on 40. I see 2 guys spot me back
to back on the Cluster. One EU and one JA - I hadn't worked a JA on 40. Sooo,
I turn the beam SE and run JAs LP for about 5 minutes. Cool! Then back to EU
(until VE3EY starts CQing 20 Hz below me.)

6. It never ceases to amaze me how some guys jump into every packet pileup,
but don't have the signal to get through in a reasonable abmount of time.

7. Randy, I listened to your audio feed on Sunday near the end of the contest,
when I got back home for the day. Very neat stuff! I could tell what bands you
werre on by the sound and who you were working, but was unsuccessful in finding
you work anyone in real time. I'm jealous of your dead quiet background
noise!

8. Had some great rates Sat. AM on 20 and 15. Made up for 40m being so poor
at the start.

Hour 160M 80M 40M 20M 15M 10M Total Cumm
