Comments:

- Orion I & A2000
- 1/4 wave insulated base verttical
   with 24 inch sides and
   80 1/4 wave buried radials
- Three Beverages 1/4 mile each to EU, VK/W6, JA
- WinTest 3.8 & Winkey

Other than last minute repair of EU Beverage that snapped in -24C Thursday
night wx, all antennas and equipment performed flawlesly in spite of ice storm
Friday night and snow most of the weekend. Greatest challenges were staying
warm and awake.

Worked 250 stations by 0200z Friday night then rates went downhill. Conditions
to EU poor Friday night but managed 41 countries and 56 US/VE mults in 741 Q's
by sunrise Saturday in spite of a 1.5 hours in the chair napping.

In spite of strong signals Saturday night from big EU stations most of which I
had already worked Friday, coudn't find many new ones. Only USSR was a UA2.
Missed OH, HB9 and others which should have been easy. Also missed WY and VE4
and the usual northern VE mults. Need to learn more about when to run and when
to S &P. Couldn't sleep well Saturday during the day. Only had two hours sleep
- should have forced more. Then I couldn't stay awake Saturday night. Several
one or hour in-the-chair sleeps Saturday night. Knocked off before 1300z Sunday
morning and missed VE4VV. Managed 4 hours sleep on Sunday and went back for the
last 3 hours which produced about 80 Q's but no additional mults.

Thanks to all for the Q's and especially thanks to Phil, VE3FAS for the use of
his great QTH and antennas. Thanks to Phil also for the help putting up the
Beverages and for his great hospitality.
