Comments:

Small portable setup (IC 718, 80 W and a bended dipole) just to experience for a
change how one band develops around the clock. The lighter hours around noon
even allowed for some decent rates by "running" - with a sudden "pile-up" and
five contacts in two minutes on sunday. I had my suspicion - to be confirmed
when returning home and searching DX-summit for my call: Yeeeeees, someone had
spotted that extremly rare DL-call on 40m - helping some stressed operators to
detect an unworked station hidden in the contest frenzy - of remaining <15 kHz
populated at noon...

And on with the miracles of spotting: sunday evening I read a station asking a
friend to spot him on the cluster. Checking DX-summit revealed that at this
very minute a spot appeared for the begging station - but under a different
callsign from that country, the same spot with the same calls ten minutes
later.

But for me it was fun to operate more hours than usual and find some of the
sometimes very spotty propagation pathes (at least for my antenna...) - like
sudden S9-signals of N0NI and K0KT (hopefully really from black hole Iowa)
inmidst of only few and not too strong east coast signals.

Only gripes: Stations insisting on "Nr? Nr?" while I tried to correct my still
misprinted callsign and the "qso b4"-types - their NILs after the checking
won´t amuse me as much as the missing contacts annoyed.

Thanks for all patient ops at the other end and the organizers for giving many
a fine weekend.

73, Chris
