Comments:

Since I had limited time to operate, thought I'd give a go on a single band. 40M
was not in very good shape by the time the contest started. It was 7PM local
here and still daylight. I would have expected more activity but the band was
unusually silent. Only 22 Q's before 9PM and the band went dead. I expected to
pick up some JA's on Saturday and Sunday mornings but this too was not to be.
The only JA I heard was JA1AYO on Sunday morning. The highlight was working
VR2XLN at 7:40AM local on Saturday morning. I got up a 3AM local on Sunday
morning thinking the band would be open to Asia, but as I said, nothing doing.
Called CQ endlessly with no responses. The upside is that I had plenty of time
for the other things needing to be done during the day. So there is a bright
side to the story.
Thanks to all who provided a contact.
