Comments:

This year I decided to operate the 7QP like a real contest;
the only problem was that I had to leave for work at 19Z.
Condx started off encouraging with Mitch, K7RL and the gang
at NK7U having good sigs on 20 at 6AM PDT; however by 20-30
minutes later there were few signals above the noise. Condx
peaked around 14Z, then daytime absorption made it a real
challenge to run the weak ones on phone. I had to ask for
many repeats; surprisingly the mobiles were often quite a bit
louder than the weakest tier of fixed stations. There were
about 4 who called who I just could dig out. I had about S1
line noise and the static crashes from the mid west were pretty
loud.
Activity seemed to be down considerably on phone and a bit
lower on CW compared to last year. My mult was about the same;
I missed many mobiles in many counties due to condx and
not being able to operate in the evening when condx should
have been a lot better. Thanks to everyone for the rare counties
and QSOâ??s.
