Tonight I was certain I would finally break the 300 iron curtain. I had good
first and second hours, but got bogged down in the beginning of the 3rd hour. I
did salvage it with 66 Qs, but seemed to run out of stations on 80 during the
last 30 minutes. Several CQs went unanswered, Couldn't find new stations to
work. So at 0400z, I ended up just 6 short.
I left 40 much too early as the time analysis indicates. But the spectrum was
very tight with all the RTTY going on from 7050 up and the other contest at
7025 and below.
I believe we need to consider a better time for this event. That's a lot of
stations to pack into 25khz. 80 played well, but no one seemed to want to
spread out. Why not use up to 3560 or so?
Still found a few ares that need improvement. So back to the drawing board to
plan how to break 300 NEXT time!
