Comments:
Condx were not as favorable this year the first day of the contest. Much QRN on
40 & 80m. SWR was very high on the 80m delta loop, out in the rain and
darkness flash light revealed one side of the loop not connected to the balun.
That would explain the high SWR. Soon as it was light repairs were made after
the end of the RDX test.
Without the Russian DX test to generate DX activity for part of the time the
extra long time this QSO Party runs would not be bearable.
Most VA cities and counties did not show up until Sunday.
Mobile rover operations were very depressing. In fact it appears only a limited
few mobile stations participated. One thing I would like to see eliminate is
where two or more people use the same rig (mobile)to operate. Is this to
eliminate the multi-op restriction in the rules for mobiles?
