Comments:
Let's start with the mobiles, and there were plenty of them: W4NZ (12), W3DYA
(12), N4PN (10), NY4N (7), W4AN (7), K4ZGB (4), KN4Y (3), NE4S (2) and W5LE (2)
all managed to hear me, more than once!
I was in West Virginia for this one, attending to some family business and had
limited time to play. The antenna consisted of about 35' of bell wire strung up
in a tree and straight to the back of my K2 running on batteries. Had a heck of
a time trying to get it to match, wound up making it happen with a couple of
20' wires and a connection into the house electrical outlet ground. Even so,
with the wind, there were times when I couldn't use more then 1.5 watts on 40.
80 was better with 5 watts for all the QSOs.
N4PN was running very hot code and has to get the "best ears award" from me as
they repeatedly came back quickly to 30 WPM bursts from me, all with no
repeats!
Think I threw my fellow TCGers initially with the "WV" exchange, sorry Jeff &
Ted ;o)
It was a lot easier to work Georgia from WV than from Tn last year. Sorry I
wasn't able to make any QSOs on 20 or 160, couldn't get the antenna to load
hihi
Thanks to all for a fun time. I was amazed at the amount of DX heard on 40M.
OM2VL sounded local and heard CU2JT often as well.
