What a great contest but 20 meters was extremely rough to work.
Lots of heavy QSB on the band. I started late due to sleeping in
and there were several hours of non activity between openings
to the lower 48 and Europe.
K7QQ was just pounding in and K3MM was putting in a big signal
most of the day on Saturday. Heard VE2RYY for several hours with
another good signal into the Interior here.
I think there was some confusion about zones as some sent ITU
and most CQ. One can get complacent with point and click but
with callsigns today, I always have to remind myself to double
check the Zone.
It has been great to hear, with always a very nice signal,
ZC4LI! They always sound good here on RTTY and I was able to
copy ZC4LI for several hours. Highlight was finally working
GU0SUP, Phil. I know Phil's very active on RTTY but just have
not been able to hook up with him until this weekend.
Lots of great ops and with other contests going on, the band was
not all that crowded. Even though propagation made it rough, I
had a blast! Worked several new ones on RTTY. I will be uploading
my log to LOTW by late tonight.
