Comments:
My first time playing in a VHF contest. Just grabbed my IC706 and a 2m 1/4 wave
whip and drove to some high ground a few miles away (about 1500ft asl). Best
ears definitely go to K8GP who managed to hear me on 2m with my puny 10W to a
GP at a distance of 121 miles. Afterwards I discovered I didn't even have the
speech processor turned on which makes it even more remarkable (sorry guys for
making it more difficult!).
Then, back home and late in the contest when it was getting dark, I strung up a
dipole at an average height of about 4ft agl on my back porch at my "no external
antenna" condo and managed three more contacts with 100W on 6m!!
I'll have to see about getting some better mobile antennas for the next one in
September so I can operate both 6m and 2m at the elevated site and maybe work a
few more.

Andrew AC6WI
