Comments:
Many thanks to K1EA for the use of his great station.
Probably should have learned how to use the MK2R+ unit before the contest.
Since Ken doesn't even "own" a microphone, there was no chance to test it.
Whatever I did in the first hour caused it to fail, and could not transmit on
the second radio.
SO2R became a kluge, with 2 headsets on my head. Very uncomfortable, but
workable.
First night was a disaster, dipoles on 80/160 not cutting the mustard.
Screaming at countries that couldn't hear me. Wife called with house
emergency. Spent 10 mins on the phone with police trying to explain how to set
up the squirrel trap :).
After that, everything went OK. Conditions improved and felt better.
After the second night it caught up to me, and had to go to sleep. Overslept 1
hour and almost missed sunrise. Turns out I missed the great 40 mtr opening
after 0700. Ah well.
Congrats to ZD and DG for great scores. Can't see how I could have made 6 meg
this time, even if I stayed awake. What a great effort.
73, Andy N2NT
