Well this one didn't work out too well. Got off to a good start just after
1800. EU signals were incredibly strong here for a time but I didn't hear too
many who were able to work any of them. Around 2230, somebody's holiday
decorations must've come on, probably one of those inflatables and my noise
level went from S6-7 to S9+20+. That kind of took the fun out the event as the
number of stations that I could hear was very limited. So that was that pretty
much it for me. Went for dinner, watched a movie and checked back around 0430.
Noise still there but there were a few big signals that I could hear. Then the
cursed device must've shut down because all was quiet...for a time. I had 45
minutes of peace and relative quiet when the noise returned (kind of odd) so I
went to bed. I didn't bother getting up early. Got on about 1200 for a bit
and added some to the log.Nothing too exciting. K6ANP was amazingly strong
about 1250 but he didn't hear me. Oh well...had some fun while it lasted.
Will hope for better luck next year but these holiday devices (so I assume) can
really ruin a guy's fun.
