This was another terrific team effort at W6YX. Thanks to Risto W6RK for all his
setup help for the contest. And thanks to Rebar N6CCH for bringing pizza when
he arrived... that was the difference maker if we end up winning this thing!
We added a new radio to our operation this time, an Icom 756ProIII from Frank
W6QI's estate, who sadly became a SK last year.
15m was great for the first 30 minutes of the contest, and then it became a
slog. The band could have supported more QSOs in the first 4 hours, but
activity there was sparse. We had 66 fewer QSOs and 2 fewer mults on 15m this
year compared with our February 2008 15m total.
We had 33 more QSOs this year on 20m, and 35 more on 40m, with the same number
of mults on these bands as last year. 80m brought us one more mult this year,
but 10 fewer QSOs.
We found a faulty coax jumper cable that gave us a lot of problems on 80m!
In all, it was another fun contest! Congrats to all the other M/2 stations
that participated. We enjoy the competition with them. Barring a surprise M/2
entrant, it looks like the M/2 title will come down to log checking between us
and the K9SEX team.
