Comments:
I've operate this contest in memory of Charles VE3EUL who became SK Friday
evening.. RIP OM
For my operation both days were very differents, Friday the vertical antenna
wasn't working very well, neither I couldn't get more than 300 watts above 1850
Khz, also the FT-2000 sound very weird and I had a lot of problems copying
station (sorry to all the station that I couldn't copy on Friday), I lost more
than 100 QSOs for these problems. After taking with Don about the problems, on
Saturday afternoon we upgrade the radio to latest DSP/audio software and also
the vertical was repaired, everything was working well after these repairs,
therefore the real contest start for me on Saturday evening, but I was really
tired for all the effort from day before.
I copied three multipliers that I couldn't work: VE4, MT and HI (KH7 was loud
at my sunrise). S56P was loud at my location but he didn't copy me, we could
shared same freq. both CQing for hours :-).
Thanks to N8TR for give me the chance to work UU7J, both were sharing same CQ
frecuency for CQing, as TR couldn't copy the UU7, I've asked him if I could try
with the UU7, TR stop his CQ for a while and I've worked the UU7, N8TR is a real
gentleman.
Very suprising listening a loud LU2DKT trying to work many NA station that
didn't copied him, also a PT7 was loud here answering stations without answer,
seems not many station are listening for SA.
CU2AF and MD0CCE were the loudest EU here.
I quit Sunday morning very tired, but before go home I've spent around one hour
trying to climb the hill in a very icy/slippery road just outside Don's house.
Congratulation to VE3EY and VA3KA for their great scores.
THANKS to Don VE3RM to be a wonderful host and a great friend.
73, Claudio LU7DW-VE3AP-VE2DWA
