Comments:

This was a very enjoyable contest on the Saturday and not quite so enjoyable on
Sunday. On Saturday morning Europe was open for several hours and unlike
contests I've done in the past couple years, I was actually working the 100W
stations, and even some QRP. I didn't have to S&P for the big guns all the
time. Using my FL-7000 amp instead of running barefoot was also a big change
as last year I only scored about 50,000 points with LP. So in spite of not
having any sunspots, the conditions are somehow improving. Highlights were
working a couple new ones - PS0F (on two bands) and Syria, as well as busting a
few big pileups on Saturday. The conditions were really poor on Sunday and it
was a struggle to get any kind of rate. Japan was coming in like they were
next door on both days but there didn't seem to be that many JAs participating.
It was also a bonus to that two Malaysian stations call me right at the end of
the contest, as I thought I was done for new mults.

My score in the SSB contest is almost identical to the CW contest, with the
difference being 7 mults and about 40 QSOs. But I believe that in the SSB
contest I worked a lot more lower power stations than in the CW contest.

Thanks for all the QSOs and CU Agn in the next one.

73,

Jerry, VE6CNU

FT-1000MP
FL-7000 Amp (about 400W)
TH6DXX tribander + inv vee(40), HF9V (80)

P.S. I'll try and have my 160m antenna fixed for the next one (if it ever
stops snowing!).
