Comments:

The start was not a great one with the only strong signals on 20 in the first
few minutes, then a few scattered Q's with NW WI after that. WI is just a bit
too far away from here near Washington, DC to work/hear mobiles with 150W and
wires which are nulled towards WI; I need to improve my signal in that
direction. It was a lesson in humility until after 21Z chasing the 40M mobiles,
and I knew every time I heard K0DXC and K4BAI calling one I would be down the
pecking order from them. Two mobiles changed counties before I could get thru!
Luckily, I worked both of those counties. Over half of the phone Q's I ran on
40 were after 2140Z, and after 21Z the mobiles were workable with 1-2 calls
most of the time, even on 80 although some were pretty weak down there. Just
after 23Z, mobiles on 80 became workable and the last hour both 40 and 80 were
wide open to WI. I had some good runs on 75M and should have tried again in the
last 45 minutes as I found no new counties, but a lot of mobile Q's on CW.

Speaking of the mobiles, an epic turnout! Great job guys and it was impossible
to keep up with them all, all of the time. I worked 14 diefferent mobiles who
were running a route! Total Q's as follows W0AA-13, N9NE, NG9T-10, NE9U, NN9K,
N0IJ, W0ZQ, K0PC-9, AF9T-8, WI9WI-4, N9AOT(SSB)-4, KE0G-3, and phone guys
KG4RUE, K9TY-3. Many thanks to you all!

Encouraging low power and QRP operation with the pwer multiliers has it's
pluses and minuses. The total number of QSO's with Wisconsin is reduced by this
practice and QSB can lead to repeats. Numerous times the mobiles were slowed
down by the pile-up QRM over top of them. My mult total was a lot better this
year; with 14 mobiles I'd guess all the counties were activated. I'll keep
trying to improve and be back next year. Once the sun got low in the sky, the
action was pretty intense.
