Comments:

I'm getting ready to head over to Pensacola bright and early tomorrow morning
for the start of this weekend's Florida QSO Party so all my stuff is in the
Pathfinder. Not wanting to miss a week of the NSL, I thought it would be a good
chance to check out the mobile so I jumped right in. It was a cool night here
and the mosquitos aren't out yet so it was really quite nice sitting out in the
driveway, running everything off the auxiliary battery, and struggling to find
the keyboard while working a few in the NSL.

I was real pleased when NG7Z answered my first CQ right at the start on 40 and
I went on to have pretty good success on that band with NO3M, WA1Z, and others
in the log. However, I couldn't seem to get anything going on 80, although the
noise level on that band was much lower than it has been the last few weeks,
but I did manage to get W5ZL in the log near the end. I found I've still got
some work to do to get comfortable operating the K3 remotely. I wasn't very
agile frequency-wise, not a disadvantage in the run situation of a QSO party
but of course in the sprints its a killer.

I hope you'll have a chance to play in the FQP this weekend. As usual it's
shaping up to have a lot of mobile activity with all counties covered. Its
always interesting to see who will be the first to complete the sweep. We'll be
helping out in that regard by putting on 30+ counties in the panhandle --
details are on this page of my website

Looking forward to working you in the FQP this weekend and in the NSL next week
-- from inside.
