Comments:
A sterling event and lots of ham radio fun radiating 45-watts into a doublet at
30-feet this weekend. I focused on driving up my point total in order to break
last year's personal best. And 40m propagation after sunset played a vital role
in making the difference between success and disappointment.
I enjoyed listening to stations like W7A and N9RV who pushed 10dB and 15dB
respectivly on my s-meter. One's signal sounds different when driven by an
amplifier and I took a few extra minutes to listen. I noted a few other 7-land
stations working pile-up(s) later in the evening on forty meters as well. Our
low bands are making the game difference during this bearish solar cycle.
Focused mainly on 40m and scored a 13Q hour for the first time in fact it was
my best hour rate. Added a few multipliers in that hour and the result pushed
my score.
Overall, thank you goes out to the 7-Land QSO Party organizers for a stellar
event and I'm already looking forward to next year.
