Comments:
A tiring weekend, but lots of fun for the most part. It was frenetic at best 20Z
Saturday at the start of NEQP with all 4 QP's quite busy and Es to both IN and
NE on 20M! It was a balancing act for sure, and I proably could have come close
to 2 meg with total concentration on the MARAC; over 250 phone Q's were made for
INQP and NEQP.
Many, many thanks to the mobiles and especially to MARAC mobile stalwarts: Jeff
W9MSE = 50 Q's, Norm W3DYA = 36 Q's, Larry W0QE = 23 Q's (back after missing
last year, kind of lost track of him among the 7QP activity), and Van WC5D = 23
Q's. You all seemed to be driving during the entire waking hour period. Hats off
to you; you are the backbone of the contest! Thanks as well to the mobiles
working other QP's who gave me several Q's each: K4XU, K7UT, KD0S, K7ED, WN9O,
KJ9C, WB9CIF, and WA1Z. Last year the 7QP mobiles were marginal at best most of
the time; this year condx were much better on 20.
Things did get slow Sunday until around 18Z when 20 popped open to those
otherwise unworkable New England stations. It was good for an hour, then closed
an hour, then open again with less activity. Even 15 opened to New England, but
not enough activity to stay around.
