VK bonus points = 6,800
Hard work with the present low solar activity but still a very enjoyable and
challenging contest. There were heaps of VK stations around. I made 26 VK
contacts with 16 VK stations in all call areas except VK1. There were also at
least 6 ZL active as well.
Its real shame that this will probably be the last ANARTS contest, the almost
unique scoring format provides a reasonably level playing field and makes the
contest an excellent challenge. Many thanks to John, GW3SKA and the BARTG guys
for managing this years contest, but it would be fantastic if some organisation
or group could take over the contest for future years, that is utilizing the
same weekend slot, with the same or very similar scoring format, even if the
contest had a new name.
