Comments:

This is my favorite contest of the year because it is so challenging. In spite
of the lack of sunspots, some auroral interference, and local thunderstorms on
Sunday afternoon, I managed to almost double last year's score. And as my
40/80 antenna was down and I was still using my backup 100W rig, I figure I did
pretty well.

I managed to make 8 QSOs on Friday night before 20m went out. Strange, but I
kept hearing C4I as the only station on the band - so I'm sure he made a great
score. On Saturday morning, I started hearing EU around 9AM local time (1500Z)
although most stations were never very strong. Saturday evening was a bust.
Sunday morning was much like Saturday morning but a little poorer. My goal was
to work 100 stations and I just managed it. You know things are bad when none
of the EU stations asks you for QTC. All QSOs were S&P and at times I had to
beg for someone to QTC.

Thanks to all those who struggled to hear my 100W in such poor condx. See you
in the next one.

73,

Jerry VE6CNU
