Comments:

Where was everyone? With 10m and 15m being absolutely dead here (except for a
couple quick QSOs on 15m within a 2 minute span), I had to concentrate on 20m.
For most of the day there was absolutely no noise here on 20m but very few
signals too. In past years I could normally get a run going, at least once,
but not this time. It was strictly S&P and I only heard one other VE6. I
didn't hear the east coast until it was almost dark here, and then suddenly I
was able to work NY, NJ, etc. for a couple hours. My timing was probably way
off as I took a break around dinner time. 20m was winding down (so I thought)
and 40m would take off. Wrong. I ended up going back to 20m as 40m was noisy
(S9) probably due to local storms. 80m was even worse and I was lucky to make
the QSOs I did (thanks to a lot of patience on the other side).

So this was, without a doubt, the worst conditions (plus fewest participants) I
can recall in a contest like this. My 2007 log showed about a third more
points, primarily due to 15m being open at the time.

I hope I didn't let my fellow Aurora Busters down. Next year has got to be
better (so I keep saying).

73 and thanks again to all who strained their ears to pick up my weak signal.
