Comments:
Bands were in good shape, but had some local man made noise and atmospheric
noise on the low bands. Fifteen meters was suprisingly open and produced a lot
of contacts. Twenty was good, but crowded with contest and the regular users so
the QRM was terrific. Ten meters had a good opening to South America with a
shorter opening to Caribbean and northern countries on Sunday. Southern
countries were good both Saturday and Sunday. Europe was surprisingly good
Sunday on fifteen meters. Maybe there is hope.
Transceiver is K3 with two receivers. Amp is venerable Dentron Clipperton L,
still chugging with 40 year old tubes that were pulled from my Hunter Bandit.
Antennas were 3 element SteppIR with 40 dipole at 21 meters and Inverted L with
80 meter trap at 60 ft on the vertical wire. Lots of rain last week gave a good
counterpoise.
