First time doing the assisted thing here. I decided to do this at the last
minute and did not have time to figure out how to get the spots to show up in
my logging program (CT). I know, its time to upgrade that but the shack
computer is an old PC running DOS and CT is happy and stable. I had my laptop
on the desk next to me watching DX Summit all weekend. I had to enter the freq
manually to chase spots. It was fun watching the contest unfold on a such a
wide scope. My only problem is the fact that with my modest setup I was
running into pilups all the time even for not so rare mults. It took me longer
to work guys that were spotted than ones that were not. I also spent to much
time looking at DX Summit than turning the knob. In the end it slowed down my
rate but it was fun playing DXer for a weekend. Will have to try this again
sometime with a fully automated system.
