Comments:

Had fun!

Did a personal best for me as I met my goal of making the 1000 QSO mark.

Overslept Saturday morning so I missed out on whatever was around at that
time.

Contemplated taking a break Saturday afternoon to watch my college team play.
Good thing I didn't as they lost big time.

I was leisurely running in the prime contest portion of the band (1825KHz)
starting about 4PM since little activity was around at that time, and I was
surprised when the Europeans started calling me. I managed to work about a
dozen of them before being run off of that segment of the band when all the
super contest stations started showing up. I spent more than half of my time
S&Ping as I had to go above 1870KHz to find a clear frequency to do any
running.

Conditions to the west were poor, with the west coast stations being quite
weak. I did manage a couple of contacts with Hawaii but only heard one station
from Alaska, and he had a huge pileup. I went on working other stations
thinking that the pile will be more managable later on, but when I came back he
was gone. I also never heard anyone on from NWT, SK, SDG, and PR.

73, Sam W4PK
