160 inverted V from the tallest tree I could reach via slingshot (about 40')
and the K3...at 100 watts, I did the best I could. I'm not very experienced at
holding a frequency or calling cq for long stretches of time...I get scared when
I make mistakes. I HAVE to work on a 4 square :) Thanks for everyone who hangs
in there when I mess up. All I can say is that it's getting a lot easier and I
have more and more fun. I didn't hear him in this contest but many thanks for
KT1V when he posted on a reflector years ago "just say no to packet"....he's
right...I copy a lot better and faster now and it's a lot more fun tuning up
and down a band and finding stations on my own. Lots of trouble with EU's
station this time around....I could hear lots of them but I had to give up on
most of them...they just couldn't hear me and me trying to get them was just
causing interference so I backed off. 73/88 Ann K1QO
