Since the new 160 tower seemed to work so well on 80/75 I decided to give it a
short test in the WPX. Got started almost 3 hours late because the XYL wanted
me to watch a "chick flick" with her! and after-all I was just going to try and
run a few for a while and then get some sleep.
Band onditions seemed very good and that prompted me to keep going.
The Beverages and RX4SQ were problematic at times on receive as I would not
hear stations calling from the rear direction and with an omnidirectional
transmit antenna there was a couple times I forgot to check the rear directions
when I would ask if a frequency was clear. Just took a few minutes before I
discovered the wrath and ire of a few "net" station participants.....my my the
language some "hams" use would make one blush!
