I decided to make use of Spring Break, and head out to Seattle, WA to operate
the famous K7SS station... What a great move! Propagation is amazing over on
the left coast, and I'll have to make it out here again sometime.
Wow, 74 QSOs! I'll have to get Dan to start using a computer so we can record
these experiences! But I don't know... You guys know Danwa's feelings toward
comFUSERS!
This is my first NS since last year's official ladder... It was fun winning the
Newcomer division, and it was interesting coming back for a curtain call. I
wasn't planning on it, but when Ken, N6RO called Danwa (DanOH this week) and I
out in his announcement, we had to show up! Even better was flying to Seattle
early this morning to compete FROM Dan's station! He also flew to SE OH and got
on from my home QTH.
A LOT of new calls, but I still remember all the old ones! Nice score to WD0T
who I heard sending numbers in the upper 60s with a few minutes left. I thought
you might catch up to me at the end, but I was able to hold on.
Anyways, great week this week! I still LOVE dupes... I spent the whole 30
minutes picking off stations left and right! I just love being loud on 40
meters! WHAT A RUSH!!! Now I know what you 6s and 7s are talking about when you
describe gangbusters on 20 and 40.
Maybe I'll be back in WA for another NS sometime. Just do another dupes-allowed
week? 20M only? :)
Well, that's it for now. I'll be flying back to Ohio tomorrow. I hope to see
you at Dayton!
