Many thanks to the DRCG for keeping the spirit of ANARTS alive with this one.
The new contest is a fine replacement.
Wish the bands had been better. First time to land only 4 continents. No SA or
AF heard. Last time I did this poorly was 2002, using a half-sized G5RV at 25'
at the base of a mountain -- and still got more continents and the same mult
count as this weekend.
Participation was very low -- fewer than 100 Qs in a 24-hour contest is a big
disappointment, and I tried with hours of CQs and S&P passes. Perhaps the VHF
contest lured a lot of people away. Had much higher per-hour production in the
4-hour BARTG Sprint 75 on Saturday afternoon.
Still, enjoyed the contacts very much and applaud the contest committee for
putting on the event. Next year, let's hope for more activity and bands that
aren't dead as stumps.
