Comments:

All,

Our campsite was at Weston Bend State Park along the Missouri River in NW part
of the state of Missouri. Antenna a 135 foot doublet at 45 feet in a huge oak
which was perched atop the highest point in the park.

Kent K0WEW and I traded operating our all CW FD using solar and battery at 5
watts. We attracted many campers with our panels and antenna giving us a
chance to demonstrate CW and chat about SSB and digital. Many were amazed at
how fast we could do a contest exchange and move on to the next contact.
Several QST copies were loaned out for reading and returned on Sunday.

Bonus points included: 100% E power, public place, information table, NTS
message to SM, FD message from ARRL, natural power and submitted via web for an
additional 650 points.

Murphy gave us one blue screen with XP, don't know the cause...but never came
back. Everything else performed perfectly even with the heat and humidity. A
few large horse flies chased us when we went out to move the panels on the
hour. Other than that we enjoyed the field day and working all those
stations.

Already looking at next year, perhaps to try a new location, approach or
operating class.

73's John N0EVH and Kent K0WEW
