That was rough. All the bands were very noisy here, even 15 and 10.
I replaced the venerable 66-foot end-fed wire with a 130-foot center-fed a
couple of weeks ago, same height, 30 feet or so. Tunes nicer but didn't seem to
work any better. Same score as last year, albeit in two fewer hours. 10 and 15
were better for me last year.
I tried calling a lot of CQs (for a change) but just could not get anything
going.
Had a 6-bander with Hal, N4GG -- the first 6-bander for me in my three years
here. Way to go, Hal, good ears!
