Thanks to Dale for the loan of his station.
Enjoyable contest. Last minute decision to operate. Operated 3 bands but
remote switch didn't have enough positions. Had to drive to tower to change
from 40 to 15 and vice versa. A little bit of useful information. Don't walk
through a field of stinging nettles wearing shorts!
Great opening to Eu on 15 meters Sunday for just over one hour starting at
2105Z. Huge signals from many stations. 90 worked on 15 in 24 countries,
almost all worked in this one super opening. Have not heard 15 like this for
many years.
20 was good for short periods of time but generally weak signals.
40 was poor due to high QRN, weak signals and limited mutual darkness.
15 meter antenna - 5 ele at 40 ft
20 meters - stack of 204BAs, top one at 48 ft.
40 meters. - dipole at 60 ft.
All antennas feed via 1000 ft of old half inch Heliax. Measured loss of 5 dB
on 15 meters. Hope to fix feedline problem soon.
