My goals this year were pretty simple: surpass last year's Q count and spend at
least a little more time in the chair. Both goals were achieved, but I sure
would have liked to have had a few more hours free to try for the 500 Q mark.
The high point for me was working KH6LC and KL7RA late Sunday afternoon on 15M
when I was trying desperately to polish off the last western U.S. and Canada
mults. How I missed hearing the pileup nearby on VY1EI is beyond me.
The most frustrating times were hearing needed mults AB,MB, and NE working
stations I was calling, then disappearing while I moved off frequency and
called them in vain. I felt like the kid chasing the ice cream vendor's truck
down the street on a warm summer's night and seeing it pull further away.
Thanks to all who spent precious extra time getting fills and repeats from me
-- your patience and skill is what makes QRP contesting so rewarding.
Cheers,
Mike,K8CN
