Comments:
Too many commitments with my girlfriend's family to make a serious effort this
year, so I knew I wasn't going to make a good effort. I set up shop Sunday
afternoon at my girlfriend's palce in NH with my Icom 706, a random wire out
the back door and let her 6-year-old son, Jonah, take the mike. The reactions
of some folks we talked to was great; "That doesn't sound like you, Sean!" The
lil' guy dutifully looked up the state of every station we talked to and marked
it on a map.
80 meters Sunday night was a lot of fun. The PVRC was out in force. In his
quest to color in more states on his map, Jonah was thwarted by PVRC:
"Where's that guy from, Sean?"
"Maryland."
"Maryland? AGAIN? Aw, come ON!"
Not a big score, but certainly one of the best ham radio experiences I've had.
Thanks for the QSOs, folks!
73,
Sean KX9X (and Jonah)
