No time to op. Wanted to be more active on high bands but I've been hampered by
the efforts of my kids! Apparently yesterday afternoon, they borrowed some of
my #14 wire from the shed and strung up an antenna of their own for their club
house. So happens that the unterminated wire acted as a rectifier and started
radiating broadcast signals every 10 KHz on 80 and 40 meters. Hearing stations
through that crud was difficult, at best...
