Summary:
Total: QSOs = 671 State/Prov = 55 Countries = 36 Total Score = 169,351
Club: CT RI Contest Group
Comments:
60 more QSOs than in 2010 CQ160CW but 4 fewer mults and claimed score down by
3000 pts with just a few less minutes in the op chair this year. 10-pt Q's
down by 20% from 2010 event although 5-pt Q's up a bit.
DX sigs remained weak throughout Friday night including sharp QSB here with
relatively quiet band condx although some static crashes persisted from storm
off East Coast. Saturday night band noise was quite low and then Europe sigs
popped up around 0245z to stronger levels. Still a struggle to work them with
100w and low vertical, plus QRM all-around. Eu is certainly more challenging
to work this season than past few years.
Sigs to southwest USA plentiful this year...lots of AZ, NM, CO & even CA.
Northwest though not heard much from...OR was last state worked (2 hrs before
Sunday S/R) and only 1 QSO as well with MT, WY, NV and none from ID. Good
activity from the DC mult. Nice to work VO1HP and VO1TA Sunday AM for 2nd to
last mult.
State/Prov Mults missed (...and never heard): ND, ID; NB(! no VE9??), VO2, VE4,
and of course VE8, VY1, VY0. No KL7 but worked KH6CC as DX mult.
Thanks for the Topband fun once again!!
73, Bill W1WBB
