By this time I realized I missed prime 15/10m operation in the earlier sessions.
I was dejected. I also am generally less enthusiastic at 11 PM.
Heard more on 20m than I worked. Most were pretty weak and fluttery, and I
could have easily got caught up trying to answer them and losing out to
stronger sigs. I left 20m feeling shortchanged.
Went to 40 pretty quickly and action was alright but I wasn't getting in a
groove. Mistakes all over the place. I wasn't catching exchanges and wasn't
asking for repeats [until I switched to CQing].
With 10 minutes left I went to 80m and was plagued by the RFI nailing my keying
inteface and locking up N1MM. I gave up after one Q with Ted/W4NZ. I was
already running only 35w. It has been raining cats and dogs all day, which
made the RFI worse. It's usually manageable.
Thanks to Joe V31JP for patiently repeating his call multiple times trying to
convince my brain he wasn't a VE3 :)
Despite me sounding like Debby Downer, I had fun. It's great to always be
seeing new operators on, especially the DX crowd. It really adds to the
excitement.
Hopefully 15/10m will be strong again on the 26th. Thanks for the fun!
