Soapbox : A very enjoyable weekend with challenging conditions at
times thanks to the
geomagnetic disturances on Saturday afternoon and evening. 40m on the
first night was simply
unbelievable, especially considering my simple dipole, and for the first
time in recent memory
I could actually run a decent rate on that band. Not so much on the second
evening, when it was
DOA and the sky totally occupied with aurora. The up side to this was a
decent night's sleep,
which helped energize me for a strong push on Sunday. The result was a
personal best in points.
