ARRL DX SSB = Plenty of hard work, long slow times, but moments of great
enjoyment.

Stopped for a few minutes and listened to N7DD working Europeans at will on
15M Sunday morning. I had time, because not a single signal from Europe was
reaching BC at the time -- nor any time on Sunday. Great work Larry -- 1800 Qs
and 118 mults on 15M from the southwest.

Worked one F station on 15M Saturday, but had to point to the southeast (60
degrees off the prime heading, along the skirt of the auroral oval, I guess) to
get their attention. The strong skew offered up a couple of other southern
Europeans a while later, but not many -- and it never did straighten out as it
has in recent contests.

Despite some of the worst overall conditions in a while, I broke my personal
best thanks to 10M providing some mults and a few Qs this year. Without Europe
on 15M, it still felt like a lousy outing.

Had a good run of 118 Europeans on 20M Sunday morning (1529z-1626z) but the
path went out like a light after precisely 57 minutes of fun, and never
returned. After that, only big-guns made it over the pole.

Mults were marginally higher than last year on 40M and 75M, but Saturday night
was rather poor on both bands.

Highlights were the hour-long Euro run on 20M Sunday morning, and a JA run on
15M early Saturday evening. Amazing how strong even the 5-watters were. And one
50-watt station was booming, though he had six elements aimed at me, hi.
