Comments:

To sum it up, conditions worse than last year. We were hoping for runs
on 10 that were better than last year but it was worse.

Murphy struck this year on 20. We had no rotatable antenna for 20 and
the only EU antenna was the low 5 element with the front director spun
vertically. Keeping a run frequency was difficult but not impossible.
The big amplifier rack malfunctioned before the CW weekend, the parts
did not arrive until Thursday before the contest and I was unable to
get them installed and running before this contest. K1BG brought his
AL-1200 over and I put an older pair of 3-500Zs to work in it's place
for the CW weekend. We made no changes in that setup. The problem with
not having the big amp rack running is we lose the autotune capability.
Band changes require a run to the amplifier room to re-tune.

Thanks to Rex for the loan of his K3. I gotta get another one or two
of those things.

Thanks to Richie, W1STT; Eldon, W1END; Rex, K1HI; and Ken, WO1N for
helping to man the operating positions.

The lowlight for WO1N and myself was the 3 hour followed by two 5
hours. At least the second 5 hour had 3 multipliers. One of the
highlights was the kosher sushi (bagels and lox) available on both
days. I'm a firm believer that a well fed operator is a happy operator.
Another highlight was a visit from Bruce, K1AJ, an old mutual friend
of both myself and Bruce, K1BG. As I write this, I am recovering from
a late night spent sitting next to K1AJ at a non-ham related function.
It's good to renew old friendships. Hopefully Bruce will come operate
here next season. He's an old friend of Eliot, W1MJ who operates
here during CQWW CW.

MVP for this one goes to Ken, WO1N for having to sit through 13
contacts in 3 hours. The time between EU sunrise and 20 opening to
EU can be a real slog. Plugging away during those difficult periods
requires lots of determination and fortitude.

Thanks to everyone who called in and we'll see everyone next year.
If time allows, we'll spend some time between now and June VHF in
one or more of the contests.

73 for the team,

Jerry - K0TV
