Comments:
Didn't think I'd hear any signals this weekend, with all that solar flaring and
CMEs hitting us. South-Central Alberta is really ground zero for this sort of
thing. When the smoke started to clear on Saturday afternoon, I was able to
work a few stations, mostly VE3s. But the noise was like running the vacuum
cleaner in the middle of a beehive, which is located directly behind Niagara
Falls! I couldn't believe that some stations were in the hundreds and I was
just starting. Actually, I could. Having a 12 hour head start helps. Being
on another planet helps too. Perhaps the RSGB should award a special
commendation to those who "persevered against all odds" and maintained a "stiff
upper lip".
