Comments:
A storm trashed my shorty-forty yagi two weeks ago, and recent weather wasn't
conducive to repairs. But Friday was the deadline, so the work got done - in
the snow. However, the project didn't wrap up until after the starting bell,
so I missed most of the first two hours.
I made up the missed time in the slow, wee hours of the morning. That was a
bit of a drag (but the real consequences won't appear until work tomorrow :)
Those issues aside, it was a great weekend. While 10m didn't open except to
South America, the other bands were in good shape. Bu lots of metrics, this
was my best contest effort.
It's always fun to have an exotic station come back to a CQ when you're working
US stations. 5X1D was the highlight in that category this time.
The heroes of the contest, of course, are the folks who get on to dabble for a
few hours. On Sunday, over half my contacts had QSO numbers below 280. It
wouldn't be much of an event without them.
Thanks to all,
/Bill, K2PO
