Comments:
Great team of operators joined forces for a fun filled weekend of CW!! The
conditions were very good. The only downside were storms to the north of us
that effected our ability to copy on the low bands Saturday and Sunday morning
on the low bands. We had stations calling from Asia and could not pull them
through the QRN. Sorry we could not copy!!
Our goal was to beat the W9 record of about 3 million set in 2007. We obviously
needed to adjust as we past that quickly. The US record was set in 2004 and was
just over 16 million. We knew there were some very good competitors in M/2 so
even though we passed the record, there was going to be good competition for
the record!
I wish more stations would use the cqcontest.ru and getscores websites. It
created so much excitement on our team as we watched the scores. Let's push
this more for the next contest....horse racing is fun!!
We used the OWA stacks for running and the SteppIR DB42s for multiplier
chasing. Four stations interlocked using K3, Alpha 87A, Array Solution
FilterMax III, 8X4 antenna switch, LP-100A, P3, N1MM Logger and coffee.
Food was outstanding. Everyone pitched in with plenty to share. Thanks to the
team members for working together to make this a success.
Congratulations to all for such a great cw event. Many records will fall and I
hope these conditions hold over for this coming year's contests.
Congratulations to our competitors on doing a great job in M/2...notably
NK7U!!
