Comments:

That was fun!!

Lowlights / Highlights:
1. Technical difficulties with 2 meters caused us to go 6 meters ONLY instead
of our usual lower four bands (limited multi).
Couldn't have happened on a better weekend.

2. Working (VE6) stations in DOxx and not getting a new grid multiplier.

3. Band open to Europe as far east as HA and the US pacific northwest at the
same time, and a very strong opening at EU sunset (~2200Z) with multiple Is,
Gs, GIs, and EIs calling in.

4. Working a rover in the tri state area of western KS and NE and eastern CO in
everyone of his grids ("clean sweep").

5. Very strong E-skip back-scatter: While beam at ~300 degrees (Seattle) - from
southwestern PA - getting called by very strong VE1s, VY2s, and W1s in the most
northern grids in ME (FN54,FN55) with enormous signals. (Common is to be called

by them with beam to the southwest - that is, off the back of the beam.)

6. Worked most grids along the US - Canada border from MI to WA, but missing
were the usual stations along the gulf coast from New Orleans to northern FL;
even TX seemed under-represented.

7. Being called by W3LPL and K3LR (Sat) and NK7U and N9RV (Sun) in a VHF
contest.

8. The last 2 hours are usually very very slow; this time it stayed open with
fresh callers right to the end.

The W3SO team.
