Comments:
Antenna: High Sierra Sidekick on top of truck cab.
Rig: Kenwood TS-140S with 500 Hz CW filter. 100W
Power: 6500W gas generator.
QTH: My back yard.
Pretty tough copy through the QRM with no SSB filters and only 500Hz on CW.
Never heard so many CQs on the same frequency - CW and SSB. Beautiful weather
though...no thunderstorms. Generator quit at 11PM after 6 hours and still had
gas in it.
Worked the west coast easily on 20 but 40 and 80 were tough. Best contact was
VY0/AH6EZ in Rankin Inlet NWT. Next year I'll use the FT-1000MP and schedule
more time.
Thanks and job well done to all the FD groups and single OPs out there that
kept the bands hopping. Fun as usual.
