Comments:

The day before Field Day started, I discovered that my battery was defective and
I didn't want to drive all the way to the metro Phoenix area for a battery.
Thankfully, the Ace Hardware here in Maricopa has a great selection of lead
batteries. I used my QRP rig and N1MM without radio control. Believe me, N1MM
is much easier with radio control (Note to self: buy a cable for radio control
of the FT-817). I had to manually use the WIPE and LOG buttons a lot. Overall,
I was pleased at how well my QRP rig with emergency power and vertical antenna
were working.
