Comments:
Many thanks to Dennis N8IVN for coming up with the idea of doing a SERIOUS
Worked All Europe contest from WX3B. Bill K3WI quickly agreed to form the team
of 3 and we were off to the races.
This contest was fun on so many levels - the teamwork within WX3B and
friendship was outstanding, the cheerleading given to WX3B from AROUND THE
WORLD was incredible. I spent a lot of time on the OFF bands socializing with
my friends while others were working the pileups.
In the end, Team N3HBX (KD4D) had a far better score, however part of what made
this so much fun was to see where the strengths and weaknesses of our team were
an if we could compensate for the measurable difference in hareware between the
two stations.
Some of the opreational highlights were a good weekend on 15, 20 & 40, and a
memorable opening on 75m Saturday night. 10 opened a few times on Sunday,
however I was not paying attention and missed most of the openings.
This was a gentlemen's contest - there were never any protracted frequency
difficulties and everyone was polite and sportsmanlike about conflicts.
Whey even KRASSY was a sweetheart this weekend!
This contest has made me EXCITED about the upcoming contest season.
Many thanks to the DARC officials for sponsoring this extremely FUN contest.
73,
Jim WX3B
