Comments:
Our hearts go out to all those that have been or will be affected by hurricane
Sandy. Many of the team membersâ?? flights were cancelled and they started
driving right after the contest to get back home on the east coast before the
storm hits.
Congratulations to all of the multi multi teams, especially the W3LPL and KC1XX
teams - for outstanding performances in this contest. The K3LR team is very
fortunate to compete with the some of the top multi multi stations in the USA
and around the world.
It is very cool to be able to enjoy the great worldwide DX conditions in the
CQWW phone contest. All of the bands had great DX propagation. Thanks to the
operators who traveled to operate at K3LR - from all over. Sharing 48 hours in
a small room full of great friends - enjoying our radio hobby - is what makes
radio contesting something very special.
The highest hourly rates ever at K3LR happened Saturday morning on 10 meters
with K1AR and N3GJ operating. W5OV and W2RQ gave the new 40 meter three high
stack a great work out and they said it works fabulous!
The secret weapon at K3LR is Sal, WM2H who handled all of the cooking and
motivation for the operators at K3LR - a 100% SUPER job Sal!
Thanks to Dave, W9ZRX for all of his hard work and dedication to helping K3LR
be ready - before, during and after the contest!
